I have the honour of raising two little girls. My two little loves. They are wild, rambunctious, imaginative, playful, and silly. Every day it is a joy and a privilege to see the world through their eyes.
I, as many mothers do, fall victim to the intense desire to never forget any part about this stage of their lives. Which is why my approach to taking pictures of them is deeply rooted in play, being silly, and allowing them to just be themselves.
Getting photos with your family should not be a stressful and overwhelming experience. I do not know about your kids. But mine? Sometimes they are not happy being told to sit still, and look at a camera. Because every fiber of our babies bodies are designed to run, play, and be silly. That is why each of my sessions are designed to be a stress free (or as much as we can be as mothers), and enjoyable experience for every member of the family.
Frequently Asked Questions

I have a few locations that I have shot at, that are tried and true. However, once you book we will discuss if there is a location that is meaningful to your family. Such as a park, your home, a spot on the river you frequent, a grandparents backyard, etc.

Once you book I have an outfit guide that I send over. Here are a a few tips you will find in there. Go with colors you feel good in earthy tones, blues, and neutrals are always a win. If you’re unsure, stick with tans, creams, grays, or whites since they photograph beautifully.
Make sure you can move in your outfit very easily, and it's a huge added bonus if the piece itself moves as well!
Use what is called: "The 5 and 5 rule." 5 years ago you could have probably worn it, and in 5 years you could still wear it!

As a mother myself I am fully aware of how precious these times are, which heavily influences the pictures I take. Anticipating the moments before they take place is the key to documenting organic moments, instead of forcing or faking them.
I take a child led approach to my sessions. If I lay a blanket down for them to sit on and they are disinterested, we pivot to something different. I allow the flow of the session to be dictated by the interests of the child. This oftentimes produces a less stressful environment for parents, as well as providing opportunities to capture the child’s true personality.
Oftentimes I find that once the children realize our happiness is not dictated by them staying still, we having more luck keeping them still in moments throughout the session.

I made the choice when my daughters were born that we would not share their faces on the internet. It was a personal decision for our family, stemming from an anxious mum (me!!) , and from the progression of AI.
I do not in anyway restrict how my clients choose to share the images from a session. Once they are delivered they are all yours to post wherever you choose.
However, for the sake of consistency I choose not to share children’s faces on my page. Especially since it is a public platform.
